The 132-click hub is not a model update, but a completely new and redesigned development. Every detail has been redesigned, enlarged, or reinforced to meet the increasing demands of modern27.5", 29", and 32"wheels, high-performance e-bikes, and aggressive riding styles.
New Freehub System – Faster, Stronger, Louder
The heart of the new NOA 132-click hub is the completely redesigned freehub system:
6 pawls, with 3 pawls engaging in a staggered pattern
66-tooth ratchet mechanism with a 2.7° engagement angle
The ratchet teeth have been enlarged to handle significantly more torque
The pawls have been enlarged to ensure improved power transmission and maximum durability
The freehub bodies have been equipped with larger bearings (The Shimano Microspline freehub features 3 sealed cartridge bearings!)
This results is a even more direct power transmission, combined with a distinctive, crisp, and more aggressive freewheel sound that makes the NOA 132-klick hub truly unique.
Maximale Stiffnes for Modern Wheels
To meet the demands of larger wheels, the hub flanges have also been significantly enlarged.Here, for example, is a comparison of the 12x148mm Boost hub:
Circle diameter left: 60 mm (before 58 mm / 12x148mm Boost!)
Circle diameter right: 70 mm (before 58 mm / 12x148mm Boost))

Even the labyrinth seal is a proprietary 3D-printed development, specifically designed for this hub.
